Space

Every thread has a Space, a voice and video call that lives inside the thread. Use it to talk a problem over with your team while the agent works, without leaving Amp or pasting a meeting link.

Enter a Space

Open the thread and click the Space tab in the pane bar on the right, then click Enter. Your browser asks for permission to use your camera and microphone the first time. You can enter the Space of any thread you can view, including your own private threads, and the thread does not need to run in an orb.

When someone is already inside, the title bar shows a green Enter Space pill and the Space tab shows who is inside. Click either to join them. In a workspace thread, teammates who have the thread open when you enter see a Space is live prompt with Join and Dismiss buttons, and threads with an active Space list the participants in the sidebar’s Multiplayer section.

You can be in one Space at a time. Entering the Space of another thread leaves the one you are in. While you are alone in a Space, quiet hold music plays until someone joins. Mute it from the call controls.

Call Controls

The controls at the bottom of the Space pane are:

• Mute Microphone and Unmute Microphone. Open Microphone Settings next to it to pick an input device.
• Turn Off Camera and Turn On Camera. Open Camera Settings to pick a camera.
• Share Screen shares a screen, window, or tab. Anyone inside can view a shared screen full screen.
• Leave ends your part of the call. The Space stays active as long as anyone else is inside.

The tile of the person who is speaking gets a highlighted border. When a participant navigates to another thread, their tile shows which thread they are viewing.

Keep Talking While You Move Around

The call is not tied to the thread page. If you close the Space pane, switch to another pane, or open another thread, the call continues in a small floating window in the corner of the app. Collapse it to keep only the controls visible, or return to the thread to put the call back in the Space pane.

To leave from anywhere, click the green pill in the thread’s title bar and confirm Leave Space. You can rejoin while the Space is active.

Who Can Join

Anyone who can view the thread can enter its Space. For a workspace thread, that is every workspace member the thread is visible to. You do not need to turn on Multiplayer to talk, but you do need it if teammates should also prompt the agent or use the orb. Archived threads have no Space.

Turn Off Space for a Workspace

Workspace admins can turn Space off for everyone in the workspace. Open the workspace’s Members settings and switch off Enable Space. Members then no longer see the Space tab or the Enter Space pill, and nobody in the workspace can enter a Space.
