Clone Repositories
Use amp clone to clone a repository hosted by Amp: an Amp-hosted project, or a global plugins or skills repository. Use git clone for repositories on GitHub or other Git hosts.
Clone a Project
Pass the project’s owner and name. The owner is your username or the workspace name:
$ amp clone owner/project-name You can also pass the project’s URL:
$ amp clone https://ampcode.com/@owner/project-name Amp clones the repository into a directory named after the project. Pass a second argument to choose another directory:
$ amp clone owner/project-name my-directory Clone Plugins and Skills Repositories
Clone your personal or workspace plugins and skills repositories with their short names:
$ amp clone user-plugins
$ amp clone user-skills
$ amp clone workspace-plugins
$ amp clone workspace-skills To clone another user’s or workspace’s repository that you can access, use owner/-/plugins or owner/-/skills. Run amp plugins repositories or amp skills repositories to list the repositories available to you.
Sign In and Git Credentials
Run amp login before cloning a private project or a plugins or skills repository. Public
projects can be cloned without signing in.
amp clone sets up Amp as a Git credential helper in your global Git config, so later git pull and git push commands in the clone work. If Amp cannot update your Git config, the clone still
succeeds and Amp prints a warning. Pass --no-git-setup, or set AMP_NO_GIT_SETUP=1, to skip
this setup.
Run amp clone --help to see every repository form.
