Reconstruct lost thread work

https://ampcode.com/threads/T-019f9d91-77c1-7206-a60f-ed6554ce92ab Reconstruct the final work from this thread, we have lost the original work, maybe try sending that thread a message and see if it responds

Reconstruction complete

Recovered the final work from the referenced Amp thread and rebuilt it on the original remote baseline:

  • Branch: feat/render-graph
  • Baseline: 780f194 feat: compile pipeline-specific render pass cohorts
  • State: 12 modified files, intentionally uncommitted and unpushed, matching the old thread’s final workspace state.

I attempted to message the old thread as requested, but Amp denied cross-thread messaging permission. Its full recorded outcome was still available through thread recovery.

Recovered behavior

  • Retained the three pipeline-specific executors:
    • ground_plane
    • gltf_standard
    • gltf_standard_double_sided
  • Completely removed raster draw-order configuration and conflict handling.
  • Raster cohorts now follow authored node order, while contradictory authored dependencies produce GRAPH_CYCLE.
  • Changed raster inputs from colorTarget / depthTarget to color / depth.
  • Left fullscreen and postprocessing colorTarget inputs unchanged.
  • Upgraded raster contracts to v2, catalog to v13, and presets to revision 4.
  • Added direction-qualified editor identities:
    • input.color
    • output.color
    • input.depth
    • output.depth
  • Adapter lowering preserves backend color / depth semantics and maps diagnostics to the correct directional socket.
  • Preserved attachment cohorts, observation boundaries, provisional liveness, MSAA resolves, and physical-pass merging.
  • Restored runtime validation that rejects plans whose raster executions violate authored order.
  • Added strict rejection coverage for raster v1, removed parameters, and legacy raster socket names.

Key implementation areas include the v2 raster contracts, authored-order cohort compiler, runtime order validation, and direction-qualified adapter lowering.

Verification

All final checks passed:

  • cargo test -p renderer --lib --target x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu — 132/132 passed
  • npm run test:js — 60/60 passed
  • npm run build — WASM and Vite production bundle completed
  • cargo fmt --all -- --check — passed
  • git diff --check — passed
  • Forbidden-symbol audit — no remaining draw-order symbols
  • Independent final code review — approved with no correctness blockers

Generated dist/ and level-editor/pkg/ outputs remain ignored; only the expected 12 source/test files are modified. No commit or push was performed.

Commit and push changes to a branch

I’ll commit the reconstructed follow-up on the current feat/render-graph branch and push it to its tracked remote branch.
